Homegrown Players

Standout Dynamo Academy players are designated as Dynamo homegrown players and remain eligible to be signed directly to the Dynamo first team. Since the Academy was formed in 2007, 9 products have been signed to first team contracts. Goalkeeper Tyler Deric became the first Academy product to start a first team match when he posted a shutout on Oct. 16, 2010 against the San Jose Earthquakes. Alex Dixon became the first Academy product to score in a first team match when he scored a stoppage-time game-winner to defeat Real Salt Lake on Aug. 20, 2011.

Players are designated as 'homegrown' before entering a four-year college or the United States U-17 National Team residency program
