Daniel Roberts not only serves as the head coach of the Under-12 Dynamo Academy team, but will also hold the dual role of Head of Scouting and Grassroots Director for the Academy. He will be assisted by Benji Saez, a Dynamo Academy alumnus from the Class of 2010, on the U-12 coaching staff. Roberts was a member of the first class of Dynamo Academy players in 2007, joining the Academy in its first month of existence before graduating from Fort Bend Clements High School. The Reading, England native played collegiately at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. He was drafted by the Dynamo in the 2012 MLS Draft and played for the Wilmington Hammerheads in the USL from 2012-14. Roberts holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) ‘A’ coaching license.

Justin Neese returns for the 2018-19 season as the head coach of the Under-11 team and will be assisted by Leo Cruz. Neese, who holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from The University of Dallas, has been a member of the Academy staff since 2012. Neese has earned USSF ‘A’ Youth and National Youth coaching licenses as well as a Premier Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches (USC). He has seven years of collegiate coaching experience, including four years as a head coach, and was most recently an assistant at the University of Texas at Tyler before joining the Academy staff.

Benji Saenz serves as the assistant coach for the Under- 12 Dynamo Academy team. Benji was a member of the first class of Dynamo Academy players in 2007. He graduated in 2011 from Aldine’s MacArthur High School and received his associates from Lone Star College- North Harris. Benji was one of two Academy players to first wear the first team uniform competitively in a Dynamo Reserves friendly game in 2010. In 2016, Benji began serving as Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer Club at Lone Star College-North Harris. He led the team until 2018 and won a Championship in 2017.
Nelson Ballesteros serves as the Director of Operations and assists with coaching for our Houston Dynamo Academy - West.
Nelson has worked closely with the Dynamo Academy for the past four years and has been instrumental in developing many players in the foundation phases of the Dynamo Academy teams. Nelson holds a Master's Degree from the University of Houston - Victoria. He also holds a USSF coaching license and was previously the technical director for The Total Football Club and Coerver Coaching Houston campus.
He has had the opportunity to attend numerous European football courses including working closely and being part of the AFC AJAX Amsterdam Academy/Online Academy program.

Sean is a native of London, England. He had a very successful youth playing career for both his school and club teams, winning multiple League, District and County Titles; he also helped his school team to a National Cup Quarter Final appearance. Sean was selected to represent his District, County and the Region of East Anglia and participated in International Tournaments in both Denmark and the USA. Sean has been a Texas resident since 2015 and has completed coaching education courses with the English Football Association, United Soccer Coaches and the United States Soccer Federation; he currently holds a USSF C License.
Alan Cuevas was a member of the first class of dynamo Academy players in 2007. Alan Cuevas graduated in 2009 from Cypress Falls before joining the Coker Men's Soccer team that fall. Cuevas began coaching immediately after his senior season at Coker College in South Carolina as a student assistant where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Cuevas holds a USSF B License.
Carlos Recinos is the head coach of the U10 academy teams. Carlos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Coker College. Carlos is an alumni of the Houston Dynamo Academy, and was a part of the first ever academy group in 2007. He started his coaching during his senior year at Coker College, as a student assistant. Once back at Houston, Carlos started coaching with the Houston Dynamo Academy assisting former academy director James Clarkson and Justin Neese. Recinos has a USSF license and National Youth License.
